Job Description
The Salvation Army, a globally recognized nonprofit organization committed to providing community services and support, is currently seeking a dedicated Truck Driver Helper to join their NE Thrift Store Department. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- prior experience driving a box truck preferred
- valid state driver’s license preferred
- ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively
- physical ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting heavy objects up to 100 lbs
- willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, and cold
Job Qualifications

- familiarity with donation handling procedures
- ability to maintain good donor relationships
- physical stamina for heavy lifting and mobility
- basic knowledge of warehouse and store organization
Job Duties
- assists the truck driver in lifting and stacking donations in the truck and unloading/loading truck
- prepares donation receipts for customers
- ensures the accuracy and completeness of donation receipts
- maintains good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army
- places and arranges furniture, appliances, books, or other heavy items in the store as directed
- inspects donated items to ensure they can be used according to established policies and procedures
- assists in cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and loading dock area
- picks up trash and debris surrounding the grounds
- assists with placing items in the store as needed
- assists customers in carrying purchased or donated items in/out of the store
- performs other duties as assigned
