Job Requirements
- Available for routine overnight travel for extended periods
- Available to work any day of the week
- Ability to squat, crouch, and reach to handle freight
- Ability to enter and exit vehicle cab multiple times daily
- Ability to push and pull rolltainers weighing 600 to 1,200 pounds
- Ability to release fifth wheel lever and tandem pins requiring pulling force
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move freight up to 50 pounds
- Ability to install and remove tire chains, hook and unhook trailers, and secure freight
- Ability to work in severe weather conditions including heat and cold
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Ability to operate vehicle in compliance with regulations
- Ability to provide professional customer service
- Familiarity with logistics and freight handling procedures
Job Duties
- Transport store-delivery freight safely and timely between distribution centers, stores, and vendors
- Unload and reload freight and rolltainers efficiently at each delivery
- Roll rolltainers off the trailer onto a lift gate and place them in the store backroom
- Unload individual boxes and totes as required and place them in the store backroom
- Reload return rolltainers and products onto the trailer for return to the distribution center
- Secure all freight and rolltainers safely and seal the trailer
- Provide professional customer service to store teams, vendors, and distribution employees
- Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required by laws
- Ensure vehicle operation complies with state and federal regulations
