Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years related tribal, community experience or training
  • valid California driver’s license with good driving record
  • current or ability to attain CPR certification within six months
  • successful completion of pre-employment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or X-ray, urine drug screen including marijuana
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • pass a criminal background check
  • ability to work indoors and attend community events
  • ability to sit, reach, handle, feel, talk, hear regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of related tribal, community experience, or training
  • experience working with tribal communities
  • knowledgeable of Southern California tribes
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • strong public speaking skills
  • ability to translate grant goals into community services
  • ability to work effectively with team members
  • ability to prioritize and coordinate activities
  • good judgment and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Assist and support all COIPP activities including design and implementation
  • implement community activities and events that teach and strengthen cultural and traditional practices
  • develop health education language activities linking community health and Native language
  • establish or strengthen sustainable programs promoting traditions
  • collaborate to increase support for traditional values and wellness
  • maintain records and document cultural advocacy and inter-tribal communication
  • coordinate development and implementation of traditional education programs and resources
  • initiate and evaluate the program through Continuous Quality Improvement
  • represent IHC at assigned events
  • update Program Manager regularly on progress and community engagement
  • re-assigned duties during emergency operations as needed
