Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of food service experience preferred
- Strong communication skills including verbal, reading and writing
- Good customer service skills
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills for simple computations
- Ability to push and pull food delivery trucks
- Ability to stand and walk more than 4 hours per day
- Ability to lift, push, and pull carts and food supplies up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises
- Ability to use personal protective equipment for chemical handling
- Willingness to follow all hospital safety and infection control policies
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Exhibit a pleasant and cheerful demeanor when communicating with patients and hospital staff
- Attend and participate in required and optional meetings and staff development programs
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment following the clean as you go policy
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to proper chemical usage and departmental safety procedures
- Deliver and serve food trays to patients and provide cafeteria food service as needed, ensuring timely delivery
- Verify patient identity by confirming names and checking name bands before delivering meals
- Respond promptly to patient concerns and notify supervisors of any patient issues or operational errors
- Follow infection control policies, emergency preparedness protocols, and safety procedures
- Use customer relation techniques to represent the department positively within the hospital environment
