Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety, environmental science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety management on construction projects
  • Experience working with Federal, State, and Local safety regulations
  • Ability to travel extensively to support projects across the United States
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong computer skills including safety reporting software
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in training development and delivery

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in Environmental Health & Safety within Aviation, Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Industrial/Manufacturing, or EV/Battery/Renewables market segments
  • Proven leadership in managing site safety for construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop and conduct safety training programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in safety auditing, risk assessment, and mitigation planning
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project management, employees, and subcontractors

Job Duties

  • Lead, direct, and enforce Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) on single construction project based on safety staffing requirements
  • Manage time and resource allocation and provide safety leadership to assigned project
  • Assess project safety practices and potential safety exposures, develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks, drive changes to improve safety awareness
  • Communicate requirements for improving performance to project leadership and team for adoption and adherence
  • Understand site safety trends and participate in reducing project incident rates to meet or exceed business unit goals
  • Develop training for project site-specific needs to educate project management, employees, subcontractors, and company personnel on EH&S programs and safe work practices
  • Promote safe work practices and working conditions in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
  • Maintain and enhance working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives
  • Develop and enforce project safety program and related policies and procedures
  • Identify unsafe actions and conditions, implement immediate corrective actions as needed
  • Develop accountability model for pre-planning subcontractor activities
  • Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Review quality of pre-task plans for subcontractors
  • Hold preconstruction planning meetings with subcontractors to review safety programs and risk mitigation plans
  • Develop safety action items for preconstruction meetings and verify subcontractor OSHA training compliance
  • Conduct worker orientation programs and record participation
  • Collaborate with project leadership to create safety reports and assess metrics
  • Ensure timely logging of subcontractors' toolbox safety meetings
  • Conduct safety audits, assess corrective actions, and issue reports of violations for resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
