Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a chef or cooking professional
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift, push or carry heavy objects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule with willingness to travel
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus
  • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
  • Technical proficiency and verifiable experience in food preparation methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact positively with diverse personalities
  • Effective communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to train, evaluate, motivate, coach and counsel staff
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities to meet objectives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize in changing environments

  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends and long hours
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements
  • Must be Serve Safe certified

Job Duties

  • Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
  • Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and administrative duties including food inventories and ordering
  • Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
  • Measures, mixes and cooks ingredients according to recipes
  • Uses a variety of kitchen equipment to prepare and serve food
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and food production areas
  • Provides ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to kitchen staff
  • Promotes a positive and cooperative workplace environment
  • Ensures quality, consistency and concept are maintained in food production
  • Monitors food appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards
  • Monitors events, materials and surroundings
  • Guides, directs and motivates kitchen employees
  • Ensures all food safety standards are followed
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates
  • Makes decisions and solves problems
  • Organizes, plans and prioritizes work
  • Evaluates information against standards
  • Carries out kitchen ideas, programs, systems or products
  • Documents and records all personnel discipline information
  • Works with Human Resources for discipline issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
