Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
- Proven experience in food preparation and culinary supervision
- Food safety certification such as Serve Safe
- Ability to work varied event-driven schedules including nights and weekends
- Physical capability for extended standing, lifting and repetitive tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments
- Must be able to accept or decline assignments but fulfill accepted shifts
- Professional presentation and self-direction

Job Duties
- Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and administrative requirements including food inventories and ordering
- Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
- Measures, mixes and cooks ingredients according to recipes
- Uses a variety of pots, pans, knives and other equipment to prepare and serve food
- Maintains a clean kitchen and food production areas
- Trains, mentors and promotes a positive workplace environment among kitchen staff
- Monitors food production to ensure quality, consistency, portion control and timing
- Ensures all food safety standards are followed
- Communicates with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Makes decisions, solves problems and prioritizes work
- Documents and records all personnel discipline and works with HR on related issues
- Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
