Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen supervision
- Ability to work varied event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to train, coach and mentor employees
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting heavy objects
- Serve Safe certified
- Attention to cleanliness and food safety
- Ability to make fast and repeated hand movements
- Must maintain high concentration and multi-task effectively
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and remain calm
- Must be available for travel and flexible assignments
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
- Technical proficiency in food preparation methods
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Ability to develop and motivate staff through training and coaching
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Detail-oriented with multitasking capability
- Self-directed while working in a team environment
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and long hours
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
- Serve Safe certification required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of health and safety standards for patrons and staff
- Ability to express ideas clearly in speech and writing
- Ability to read and understand written information
Job Duties
- Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and ordering food products
- Measures, mixes and cooks ingredients according to recipes
- Uses kitchen equipment for food preparation and service
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and food production areas
- Provides ongoing training and mentoring to kitchen staff
- Ensures quality, consistency and food safety standards are met
- Monitors events, materials and kitchen environments
- Directs and motivates kitchen employees
- Communicates with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Makes decisions and solves problems related to kitchen operations
- Documents personnel discipline and collaborates with HR
- Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
