Job Requirements

  • degree
  • experience coordinating and booking travel requests including airfare, lodging, reimbursements or event planning experience
  • ability to work as a team-player and establish cooperative working relationships
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • accurate record keeping with attention to detail
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines with limited supervision and frequent interruptions
  • skill in effective professional communication using tact and diplomacy
  • knowledge of general accounting principles and fund accounting
  • demonstrated proficiency with PC software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access
  • ability to use standard office equipment
  • current authorized work status
  • willing to work overtime

Job Qualifications

  • five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience in higher education
  • prior work experience coordinating and booking travel requests including airfare, lodging and reimbursements
  • experienced in event planning
  • knowledge of general accounting principles and fund accounting
  • strong analytical skills
  • skill in using PC software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access
  • excellent written communication skills including business correspondence
  • ability to work independently
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines with limited supervision

Job Duties

  • independently prepare travel vouchers for faculty, academics, students and department visitors
  • coordinate travel-related purchase orders and entertainment reimbursements
  • organize all essential components of colloquiums and departmental events
  • provide front-office assistance in the Executive Administrative Offices
  • serve as the Receiver of all department purchases
  • maintain accurate record keeping
  • communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders
