Job Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment background check and subsequent background investigation

Job Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level
  • knowledge of SABRE GDS reservations and ticketing system
  • knowledge of travel regulations
  • experience in planning special events and conferences
  • experience in use of computer software and programs
  • knowledge of SAO and Harvard College Observatory protocols
  • ability to handle multiple responsibilities under deadlines
  • working knowledge of Federal contracting and procurement
  • skill in budget preparation and control
  • knowledge of travel policies and procedures
  • ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • current Airlines Reporting Corporation certification
  • education equivalent to a U.S. higher education institution

Job Duties

  • Coordinates all aspects of domestic and foreign travel for SAO personnel
  • Serves as a certified Airlines Reporting Corporation specialist and Sabre booking and ticketing agent
  • Drafts detailed policies and procedures related to travel and special events
  • Participates in administration of the Government Travel Credit Card system
  • Develops travel budgets and advises on estimates
  • Acts as a Designated Contracting Officer for travel funds
  • Oversees maintenance and performance of reservation and ticketing systems
  • Provides emergency travel support
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
