Job Requirements
- Possess U.S. citizenship or be a U.S. national
- Have reached minimum age of 18 at time of application
- Register with Selective Service if applicable
- Pass structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation
- Be subject to post-employment random drug and alcohol testing
- Available to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending
- Able to travel occasionally for training
- Exposure to potentially lethal devices and chemicals inherent in role
- Meet and maintain physical agility including squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking up to three miles, and standing for prolonged periods
- Limit resume to two pages

- Agree to TSA sharing application within the Department of Homeland Security
- Serve a basic trial period if appointed without time limitations
- Adhere to TSA dress and appearance policies
- Work full-time or part-time with shift work including irregular hours

- Subject to suitability determination and credentialing
- Must not have delinquent taxes or past due child support
- Residency requirement of three of last five years in the US
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an x-ray technician
- Have a high school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate
- Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass a structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation
- Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking up to three miles
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training
- No delinquent federal or state taxes or past due child support payments
- Residency within the United States for three of the last five years
- Adherence to TSA dress and appearance regulations
Job Duties
- Operate various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers and prevent those objects from being transported onto aircraft
- Perform searches and screening, including pat-downs and property searches, conduct bag searches, and lift/carry bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50 pounds
- Control terminal entry and exit points
- Interact with the public by giving directions and responding to inquiries
- Maintain focus and awareness in a stressful environment with noise, distractions, time pressure, and disruptive passengers to effectively identify potential threats
- Engage in continuous development of critical thinking skills to mitigate security threats by identifying, evaluating, and applying appropriate situational approaches
- Retain and implement knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrate responsible behavior, and adapt to new information or obstacles
