Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. national
- Minimum age of 18 at application
- Selective Service registration for male applicants
- Pass structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation
- Subject to random post-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Availability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel for training
- Exposure to potentially lethal devices and dangerous chemicals
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and walk up to three miles during shifts
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of full-time work experience in security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician
- OR high school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate
- Proficiency in English including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension
- Ability to maintain physical agility and meet physical demands
- Ability to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Experience in customer service or working with the public is beneficial but not required
Job Duties
- Operating screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers
- Performing searches and screening including pat-downs and property searches
- Controlling terminal entry and exit points
- Interacting with the public, providing directions, and responding to inquiries
- Maintaining focus and awareness in a stressful environment with noise and distractions
- Applying critical thinking skills to mitigate security threats using risk-based protocols
- Retaining and implementing knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrating dependable behavior, and adapting to new information or obstacles
