Job Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years' supervisory experience
- Preferred three years' experience in public transit, logistics or related field
- Ability to obtain (CLP) Commercial Learners Permit within three months of hire
- Ability to obtain Class C Florida Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement within one year probation period
- Ability to obtain Transit Safety and Security Program Certificate within two years
- Ability to obtain Florida Drug and Alcohol Program Manager Certificate or Substance Abuse Management Certificate within one year
- Must comply with Federal Transit Administration Drug and Alcohol Regulations
- Must be able to perform physical demands such as lifting up to 20 lbs, walking and standing
- Must maintain honesty and integrity serving the public
- Must establish effective working relationships regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, or political affiliation

- Ability to obtain Transit Safety and Security Program Certificate within two years
- Ability to obtain Florida Drug and Alcohol Program Manager Certificate within one year
- Knowledge of para-transit bus operational characteristics
- Knowledge of transit scheduling, dispatching and computer software
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to plan, supervise and keep accurate records
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergencies
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse populations
Job Duties
- Report to the Department Director on all safety aspects of field operations, vehicles, facilities, customers and personnel
- Monitor program effectiveness and prepare periodic reports
- Investigate, classify and review occurrences, accidents, and incidents
- Develop corrective measures to minimize reoccurrence
- Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations
- Develop and maintain safety programs such as System Safety and Security Program Plans, Hurricane Plan, Emergency Contingency Plan, and Occupational Safety and Health Plan
- Ensure compliance with federal and state safety laws and regulations
- Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training and onboarding for new employees
- Manage the Agency's Drug and Alcohol Program Plan
- Coordinate pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion testing with Human Resources
- Maintain accurate work records for drivers and Transportation Division employees
- Develop safety and security KPIs and provide analysis and recommendations
- Assist in hiring new operators
- Support transportation coordination during county emergency operations
- Perform related work as required
