Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license and excellent driving record or ability to provide independent authorized transportation
- bachelor's degree in relevant field plus one year of related experience for Transportation Planner II
- associate's degree for Transportation Planner I
- experience may substitute for education
- willingness to travel independently within Nebraska in fair weather
- ability to visually verify and update road inventory details
- competence in data entry and management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning, transportation planning, engineering technology, business, data science, physical sciences, geographic information systems, or a related field plus one year of related experience
- experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
- ability to analyze computer programs and understand their applications in transportation planning
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Travel in fair weather within the state while collecting roadway information
- prepare data for submission to the Federal Highway Administration's Highway Performance Monitoring System
- perform edits and updates within a digital spreadsheet with reliable file management
- collect county inventory and lane mile reporting, including training with OnBase systems and municipal data collection
- prepare data for public hearings, assist in inventories and functional class data ratings
- perform other duties as assigned
