Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of specialized training in relevant occupational field
- one to two years of experience in similar position or apprenticeship/internship
- ability to supervise state inmate labor
- completion of required Georgia Department of Corrections training
- possession or ability to obtain valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia
- ability to pass P.O.S.T certification within required timeframe
- possession or ability to obtain valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- physical ability to perform intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching
- ability to lift light and heavy objects and climb ladders
- ability to use protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves
- ability to work outdoors in dusty, dirty, greasy, and inclement weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of correctional techniques
- knowledge of management and supervisory techniques
- knowledge of cleaning techniques
- knowledge of gardening and lawn maintenance practices
- skill in operating pressure washers, lawn mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, sidewalk edgers, and sprinkler systems
- skill in oral and written communication
- ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations
- completion of specialized training in the occupational field
- experience with supervising inmate labor
- ability to obtain or possession of valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia
- completion of Georgia Department of Corrections required training
- ability to pass P.O.S.T certification
- possession or ability to obtain valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
Job Duties
- Supervise inmates in the maintenance of city parking structures and surrounding areas
- manage and supervise inmate work while maintaining safety of inmates and the public
- maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of METRA facilities, garages, campus, and routes
- schedule cleaning of city public parking garages and lots
- maintain and inventory METRA lawn tools and equipment
- handle logistics for meetings including setup and takedown of tents and moving furniture and audio equipment
- maintain METRA facilities, grounds, bus routes, stops and shelters
- collect trash daily from public parking garages, lots, and park-n-ride locations
- inspect and clean contracted shelters weekly and manage billing
- install and recondition benches, poles, and signs at bus stops
- perform courier duties
- evaluate designated inmates in the OJT program
- perform other related duties as assigned
