Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in heavy civil transportation construction projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) registered in State of Colorado preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- OSHA certification preferred
- Ability to work in office and field environments
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices, costs, scheduling, estimating and legal requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
Job Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Primavera skills are desirable
- OSHA certification is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Colorado preferred
- Extensive construction experience focused on infrastructure projects can substitute for PE
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in heavy civil transportation construction projects
- Experience with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) projects is preferred
Job Duties
- Provide construction management leadership to the project team in support of the client
- Monitor and report on construction work, making recommendations on remedial actions for client approval
- Provide health and safety leadership and assist in the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans
- Monitor contractor compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental requirements
- Manage projects efficiently with technical expertise in design and construction methods
- Maintain thorough knowledge of construction practices, costs, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Understand legal, design, and construction requirements for public works contracts
- Interpret code compliance requirements and industry standards
- Solve complex problems using sound judgment, creativity and innovation
- Collaborate and communicate effectively within project teams
- Lead preparation and coordination of project deliverables and reports
- Read and interpret engineering contract documents and project schedules
- Monitor contractor compliance with schedule, budget, technical specifications, and legal requirements
- Examine field conditions to support project completion
- Review contractor change requests and assist in contract modifications
- Work in both office and long-term field environments
