Job Requirements
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate
- certified Colorado Bus Driver Trainer designation or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
- completion of CDE annual required transportation training
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of three years experience in school transportation, commercial driving, or related field
- knowledge of Colorado Department of Education transportation regulations
- proficiency in routing software and GPS systems

- minimum of three years experience in school transportation, commercial driving, or related field
- prior experience as a certified trainer or mentor in CDL bus driver instruction preferred
- experience with bus routing software and transportation logistics strongly preferred
- knowledge of Colorado Department of Education transportation regulations
- strong understanding of CDL driving requirements, defensive driving, and student safety procedures
- proficiency in routing software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- ability to conduct effective training sessions for adult learners
- strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Train, mentor, and evaluate new and current bus drivers in CDL and small vehicle operation
- safely operate school buses on assigned routes, activity trips, or shuttles as needed
- monitor compliance with safety procedures and state regulations
- respond to transportation-related emergencies or coverage needs
- develop and adjust bus routes and schedule with the Transportation Manager in routing software
- conduct ride-alongs, spot checks, and safety inspections with drivers
- communicate with schools, parents, and staff about transportation issues
- facilitate safety meetings and driver in-service training
- track and document driver performance, training hours, and compliance records
- review vehicle inspections and coordinate with maintenance staff
- conduct route efficiency reviews and recommend adjustments based on enrollment or ridership trends
- provide district-wide transportation reports to administration
- update and implement training modules in line with CDE/CDOT regulations
- coordinate annual CDL recertification training and testing for CDL and small vehicle drivers
- oversee start-of-year route planning and student assignments
- support recruitment and onboarding of new drivers with the Transportation Manager
- perform other duties as assigned
