Job Requirements

  • Eighth grade education minimum
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Clean driver history with no garnishments or citations
  • Massachusetts Drivers License
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to assist residents physically when entering or exiting vehicles

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal tactfully with residents and families
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
  • Ability to handle emotionally upset or confused residents professionally
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Provide safe and courteous transportation to residents for special events, medical appointments, and field trips
  • Assist residents when entering and exiting vehicles, including support at medical appointment waiting areas
  • Coordinate transportation schedules with reception and security staff for efficient service
  • Maintain logs of mileage, times, and residents transported
  • Perform routine safety and maintenance checks on vehicles and ensure cleanliness
  • Communicate any mechanical problems or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly
  • Represent the community positively when interacting with residents, families, and staff
