Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain State of Montana Class B, Type 2 commercial driver’s license with no air brake restrictions and passenger endorsement within ninety days of employment
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must pass Federal and State criminal history background check
- Must pass driving records check
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform physical demands including lifting up to 60 pounds
- Ability to operate mobility device restraints, vehicle lifts, and ramps
- Availability for variable work schedules and standby duty
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State of Montana Class B, Type 2 commercial driver’s license with no air brake restrictions and passenger endorsement or must be obtained within ninety days of employment
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, Federal and State criminal history background check, and driving records check
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with city government and knowledge of city transit operations preferred
- Two or more years of combined professional driving education and experience preferred
Job Duties
- Safely and efficiently operate a transit system vehicle over designated routes and for special events according to schedule or manifest
- Read, understand, and follow applicable schedules and routes
- Utilize a mobile data terminal for trip manifests and transit related activities
- Pick up, transfer, and discharge passengers in accordance with schedule times and trip manifest
- Collect fares, verify pass eligibility, and assist passengers with fare related issues
- Maintain operational records including passenger counts, pre-trip and post-trip records, and mileage
- Report driving hazards, vandalism, and incidents encountered on route
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report problems
- Clean interior and exterior of vehicles and facilities
- Perform building and grounds maintenance duties including snow removal
- Adhere to all applicable safety, security, and operational policies and regulations
- Report for duty on short notice and maintain fitness for duty
- Assist in training new employees
- Greet passengers and maintain a friendly attitude
- Attend to special transit needs of passengers including seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Promote a positive public relations image
- Provide accurate information to passengers and the public
- Perform other duties as assigned
