Job Requirements
- Possession of an appropriate California driver’s license
- obtain California Class B permit within 2 weeks of employment
- obtain California Class B license within 3 months
- availability to work weekends holidays and flexibility to cover as needed
- ability to perform complex administrative and supervisory activities related to transit system
- ability to select supervise train and evaluate staff
- ability to administer comprehensive safety and accident prevention program
- ability to maintain clear and accurate records
- ability to prepare clear and concise reports
- ability to research collect and analyze transit operations and maintenance information
- ability to conduct facility and safety inspections
- ability to interpret explain apply and enforce laws rules and regulations
- ability to represent transportation department transit functions

Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
- bachelor’s degree in business administration public administration or transportation administration is desirable
- four years of progressively responsible and varied professional support experience
- at least two years in a supervisory function
- knowledge of modern principles practices and techniques pertaining to operation of a public transit system
- knowledge of principles of supervision and training
- knowledge of modern security requirements disaster emergency management preparedness
- knowledge of route scheduling and personnel and equipment utilization
- knowledge of office management and record keeping
- knowledge of accident investigation and reporting techniques
- knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- knowledge of federal drug and alcohol regulations for transit agencies
- knowledge of research methods and procedures
Job Duties
- Plan coordinate and supervise operations and maintenance division
- train and retrain subordinates
- coordinate safety and security programs
- prepare reports related to bus operations and vehicle maintenance
- supervise staff and assign work
- oversee enforcement of safety and security regulations
