Job Requirements
- Paramedic training required
- Minimum two years related paramedic experience
- California Paramedic license required
- NREMT/Paramedic certification preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding EMTALA regulations
- Familiarity with third-party payer systems preferred
- Proficient with radio communication and dispatch procedures
- Ability to communicate complex medical information
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Qualifications
- Paramedic training
- Two years of progressively responsible experience as a paramedic
- California Paramedic license required

- Advanced radio communication skills
- Ability to communicate medical status clearly
- Strong confidentiality and ethical standards

Job Duties
- Conducts initial telephone intake of transfer requests from healthcare facilities
- Receives and coordinates teleconferences with physicians, nursing staff, and transport personnel
- Operates multi-line telephones, radio consoles, and mapping systems to support patient transport
- Collaborates with patient placement and medical staff to identify appropriate receiving services
- Develops and ensures positive customer service with patients, families, and visitors
- Maintains and updates databases on referrals and hospital locations
- Serves as liaison between Life Flight crews, medical teams, and referring facilities
- Responds promptly to emergency transport calls and dispatches medical crews
- Prepares and maintains accurate reports of patient transfer progress
- Monitors and interprets weather products to aid safe transport
- Reviews patient data to assess acuity and advises on mode of transport
- Coordinates with physicians and hospital staff on medical necessity of transfers
- Documents all transfer processes in electronic medical records system.
