Job Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years direct experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting
  • CPR and CPI Instructor certification
  • Active and current CPT required
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy and EKG processes
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and/or other hours to conduct training
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare and present training events as directed
  • Adherence to facility, departmental, and corporate policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in staff education, education concepts, practices, and procedures
  • CPR and CPI Instructor certification
  • Active and current CPT required

  • Ability to prepare and present training events
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for teaching Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR (American Heart Association) classes
  • Responsible for teaching verbal de-escalation
  • Coordinate, schedule, and organize employee training sessions, workshops, and continuing education programs
  • Support training plans, competency assessments, and department-specific education
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation for new hires
  • Work closely with CNO, ACNO, Nursing Educator, and HR Director to review education and training needs
  • Ensure education files comply with UHS, state, federal, and accreditation requirements
