Job Requirements

  • Must have undergraduate degree or post secondary qualification with certifications
  • Food Handling certification required
  • Minimum five years of leadership experience with medium sized teams
  • Minimum five years in hospitality or tourism guest facing environment
  • Experience in luxury restaurant or hotel operations
  • Ability to travel away from home base for up to six days
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry 40 pounds
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be over 21 years old
  • Safety alert compliance and ability to work outdoors in varying weather
  • Valid identification for travel
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in hospitality or tourism management preferred or post secondary with technical certification and experience
  • Food Handling certification required
  • First Aid and CPR/AED certification an asset
  • Fluency in English required
  • Fluency in additional languages an asset
  • Valid form of ID for travel required
  • Valid driver’s license an asset
  • Five plus years of leadership experience including three plus years managing medium sized teams
  • Five plus years in hospitality or tourism guest facing roles
  • Experience in luxury restaurant or hotel operations
  • Experience in safety alert or railroad environments an asset
  • Ability to create and implement business plans for multiple teams
  • Strategic decision making skills
  • Highly organized with advanced communication and Microsoft Office skills
  • Skilled in driving guest experience initiatives
  • Exceptional physical and emotional endurance
  • Polished leadership style and strong emotional intelligence

Job Duties

  • Make immediate decisions in a high-pressure environment impacting crew guests and stakeholders
  • Facilitate service execution through Guest Service Managers encouraging teamwork
  • Support onboard leadership with problem resolution and guest issue tracking
  • Drive team growth through recruitment training coaching performance management and recognition
  • Foster a collaborative culture of service excellence
  • Identify innovation opportunities and lead change management
  • Provide a safe and respectful workplace by building relationships with team members managers and partners
  • Encourage a One Team approach and champion corporate initiatives
  • Participate in strategic company projects and assist with Guest Experience Operating Plan execution
  • Understand rail operations logistics and train movements to anticipate impacts
  • Execute administrative requirements including payroll crew assignments accommodation inventory management and ordering
  • Deliver and disseminate guest experience and operations information through communication channels
  • Partner with business units to ensure rail car cleanliness and mechanical performance
  • Monitor and manage food waste and usage with Onboard Management
  • Ensure safety security and First Aid of crew and guests
  • Coordinate emergency response with departments
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP regulations
  • Adhere to Onboard Safety Management System policies
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and near misses
