Job Requirements
- undergraduate degree or post-secondary education with relevant experience
- food handling certification
- minimum 5 years leadership experience with at least 3 years managing medium-sized teams
- 5+ years hospitality or tourism guest-facing experience
- must be fluent in English
- able to travel away from home base for up to 6 days
- must be over 21 years old
- able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- legally allowed to work in the United States
- valid identification for domestic travel
- food safety compliance
- physically and emotionally resilient in fast-paced environments
Job Qualifications
- undergraduate degree in hospitality or tourism management preferred or post-secondary with technical certification and experience
- food handling certification required
- first aid and CPR/AED certification an asset
- fluency in English
- fluency in additional languages an asset
- valid form of ID for domestic travel
- valid driver’s license an asset
- 5+ years of people leadership experience including 3+ years leading medium-sized teams
- 5+ years working in hospitality or tourism industry in guest-facing roles
- experience in luxury restaurant or hotel operation
- experience in safety alert and railroad environment an asset
- experienced in creating and implementing business plans for multiple teams
- strategic decision-making ability
- highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and web-based platforms
- experienced in driving guest experience scores
- demonstrates polished leadership style and strong emotional intelligence
Job Duties
- make immediate decisions in a high-pressure environment impacting crew, guests, and stakeholders
- facilitate execution of services through Guest Service Managers encouraging teamwork and lateral service
- support onboard leadership in problem resolution and tracking guest issues
- drive growth and development of team members through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and recognition
- foster a collaborative culture of service excellence
- identify opportunities for innovation and lead change management
- provide a safe and respectful workplace by building strong relationships with team members, managers, and partners
- execute administrative requirements including payroll, crew assignments, and inventory management
- deliver information relevant to guest experience and operations through proper channels
- partner with business units to ensure guest comfort through cleanliness and equipment performance
- monitor and manage food waste and work with onboard management on adjustments
- ensure safety, security, and First Aid of all onboard crew and guests
- coordinate emergency response with various departments
- comply with food safety and HACCP regulations
- adhere to the Onboard Safety Management System (SMS) program
- maintain records of all near miss and incident occurrences
