Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to lift heavy items
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Availability to work varied hours and up to eight days away from home crew base
  • Successful completion of customer service aptitude test
  • Successful completion of drug screening and medical exam
  • Must wear company uniform and comply with grooming policies
  • High school diploma or GED

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food and beverage handling
  • Cash handling and customer contact experience
  • Housekeeping experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old upon completion of classroom training
  • Must successfully complete customer service aptitude testing
  • Must successfully complete drug screening and pre-employment medical exam
  • Must have friendly, outgoing, and courteous disposition
  • Must wear company-provided uniform and comply with grooming policies
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some college education or training in food service industry or transportation preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant journey for coach and sleeping car passengers
  • Keep assigned train cars and restrooms clean for the duration of the trip
  • Offer first-class amenities, make beds, and change linens in sleeping cars
  • Assist elderly and disabled passengers with boarding, detraining, and baggage handling
  • Load and unload supplies and maintain inventory
  • Perform dining car service and side work as directed by Lead Service Attendant
  • Work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
