Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in traffic signal maintenance (two years for Tech II, four years for Tech III)
- Knowledge of traffic maintenance practices and safety protocols
- Proficiency in using traffic control tools and specialized equipment
- Ability to operate aerial lift equipment
- Capability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Possession of Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License
- IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Certification or ability to obtain
- IMSA Traffic Signal Certification (Level I for Tech II, Level II for Tech III)
- Obtain RTD On-Track Safety Training Certification within six months
- Obtain ATSSA safety certificate within six months
- Resident of Colorado at time of hire
- Pass thorough criminal background check
- Pass drug testing for safety-sensitive positions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of practices and techniques of traffic maintenance functions
- Applicable safety practices and procedures
- Use of tools, specialized equipment, methods, and safety practices common to assigned maintenance function
- Proficiency in operating aerial lift equipment
- Ability to inspect and make minor repairs to traffic signal equipment
- Perform manual labor for extended periods, outside and in all weather conditions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
- Understand oral and written instructions
- Operate or receive training on various types of maintenance and construction equipment
- Work overtime and call back duty
- Train and instruct other employees
- Keep and maintain accurate records
- Organize and schedule tools, materials, and equipment to accomplish tasks
- Supportive team player with a positive attitude and ability to adapt to change
- Strong commitment to safety
- Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License
- IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Certification
- IMSA Traffic Signal Level I, II Certification (for Tech II and III respectively)
- RTD On-Track Safety Training Certification within six months of employment
- ATSSA safety certificate within six months of employment
Job Duties
- Operates or uses a variety of tools and equipment related to traffic control maintenance function
- Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and makes minor repairs of traffic control equipment
- Coordinates and schedules routine maintenance activities
- Assists in performing skilled maintenance and construction tasks including the installation and testing of traffic signal control equipment
- Operates diagnostic equipment
- Maintains various records such as equipment, time, supplies, and parts inventory
- Assists in training other employees in routine maintenance tasks
- May act as lead worker (Tech II and III)
- Performs additional duties as required (Tech III)
- Assists other maintenance groups such as signs and markings and streets as needed
