Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Possession or ability to obtain a valid Colorado Driver's License
- Minimum of two years driving history with a safe record
- Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug testing as position is safety sensitive
- Ability to work irregular hours including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs
- Ability to operate hand, electric, and gas-powered tools
- Ability to follow safety protocols and traffic regulations
- Ability to occasionally be on-call and carry a pager
- Ability to perform responder role within NIMS/Incident Command System
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple departments and agencies
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with safe driving record
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and traffic control devices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and plans
- Skill in using computer software for report generation
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Team-building and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
- Certifications including IMSA Work Zone Safety, IMSA Traffic Signal Levels I, II, III depending on technician level
- Ability to operate specialized vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks and forklifts
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
Job Duties
- Maintains the Town's traffic signal systems including installing, constructing, and repairing traffic signals and devices
- Places and removes barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices around work areas
- Provides status reports and advises on projects assigned to the Traffic Services Division
- Services and maintains assigned equipment and performs minor mechanical adjustments and repairs
- Installs and maintains signal controller cabinets, camera systems, detection equipment, fiber optic cables, and traffic control devices
- Adjusts, repairs, replaces, and modifies electric, electronic, and mechanical components
- Responds to natural and man-made disasters performing traffic maintenance duties
- Assists in locating underground traffic and drainage facilities
- Participates in snow mitigation efforts operating dump trucks with plows
- Provides in-field guidance to work teams and assists with repair and maintenance of street signs, pavement markings, and lighting
- Complies with Town policies and procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
