Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Two years of combined maintenance experience in relevant fields
  • Ability to lift 90 pounds
  • Ability to climb and work at heights of 20 feet or more
  • Physical fitness to perform job duties
  • Ability to obtain a State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver's License without air brake restrictions during probation
  • Proof of CDL required
  • Ability to visually distinguish colors
  • Compliance with safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Two years of experience in maintenance and servicing of traffic signals, railroad signals, telecommunications, networking, electronics/computer repair, alarm/CCTV, fiber optics, electrician or cable/satellite television
  • Ability to visually distinguish colors in traffic signals
  • Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
  • Skilled in troubleshooting circuitry and working from technical drawings
  • Ability to follow instructions and analyze problems

Job Duties

  • Assembles, installs, tests, adjusts, repairs, maintains, relocates and removes traffic control and communication equipment
  • Designs, modernizes and rebuilds electrical and electronic circuitry for traffic systems
  • Tests and troubleshoots circuits and components
  • Adjusts traffic signals and devices for efficient operation
  • Recommends changes to construction plans
  • Performs preventive maintenance and major repairs including working with foundations, conduits, cables and signal heads
  • Operates hydraulic and truck-mounted equipment
  • Maintains records and prepares work reports
