Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in traffic engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software preferred
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards
- Experience with Microstation
- Experience with intersection and roadway concept development
- Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training and pass the PM Board within 6 months of start date
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to manage projects financially and administratively
- Leadership and supervisory skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, or 7 years of equivalent professional experience
- Participation in continuing education and professional development programs
- Experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams
- Proven organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical knowledge in the specific field of the project
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Understanding of accounting principles to manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation
Job Duties
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
- Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, knowledgeable with safety assessment, and identify intersection operational improvements
- Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS
- Apply a broad knowledge and good understanding of principles and practices of traffic engineering
- Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing
- Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles
- Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties
- Effectively communicate directly with clients
- Supervise staff
