Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in traffic engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software preferred
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards
  • Experience with Microstation
  • Experience with intersection and roadway concept development
  • Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training and pass the PM Board within 6 months of start date
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects financially and administratively
  • Leadership and supervisory skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, or 7 years of equivalent professional experience
  • Participation in continuing education and professional development programs
  • Experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical knowledge in the specific field of the project
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of accounting principles to manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation

Job Duties

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
  • Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, knowledgeable with safety assessment, and identify intersection operational improvements
  • Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS
  • Apply a broad knowledge and good understanding of principles and practices of traffic engineering
  • Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing
  • Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles
  • Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties
  • Effectively communicate directly with clients
  • Supervise staff
