Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with safe driving record
- One to six years of related experience depending on technician level
- IMSA certification (Level I within one year for entry
- higher levels require advanced IMSA certifications)
- Ability to work outdoors and under various weather conditions
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds
- Experience operating relevant tools and vehicles
- Ability to work rotating shifts and on-call duties
- Pass background check, drug screen, and physical examination
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- IMSA Signs and Markings or Traffic Signal certification (level varies by position)
- Experience in traffic signal, sign, pavement marking, and street light installation and maintenance
- Knowledge of traffic control safety and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with the public
- Proficiency in using electronic mail, spreadsheets, and traffic signal software
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- Leadership skills for higher levels
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment
- Ability to prepare documentation and reports
Job Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair traffic signals, poles, cabinets, and speed monitoring equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain street lights and traffic control signs
- Fabricate specialty signs and install sign posts
- Respond to incidents with traffic control setups including flagging and road closures
- Assist in traffic counts and traffic studies
- Maintain inventory of signs and repair lighted street name signs
- Lay out, paint, tape, and maintain pavement markings
- Recommend purchases and complete daily work reports
- Operate equipment including flatbed truck, aerial bucket, paint striper, pavement grinder, air compressor, power washer, and hand tools
- Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation for traffic emergencies
- Respond to public inquiries
- Lead or assist in traffic control device repairs and installations
- Perform other assigned duties
