Job Requirements
- one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent
- knowledge of military and commercial transportation operations
- understanding of federal traffic management and contracting regulations
- federal time-in-grade requirements for GS positions where applicable
- demonstrated ability to manage and lead traffic management functions
- proficiency in planning, organizing, and supervising operational teams
- capacity to handle security and safety compliance in transportation operations
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of traffic management principles, policies, practices, laws, and regulations
- understanding of economics of transportation and commercial carrier operations
- experience with hazardous and sensitive materials handling
- knowledge of air terminal operations including passenger and cargo transportation
- familiarity with customs import/export requirements
- experience in contracting and procurement processes
- skill in staff management and mentorship
- ability to analyze complex information and make decisions
Job Duties
- manage and supervise all traffic management functions within the Traffic Management Flight
- direct the operational activities of the Logistics Readiness Squadron or Aerial Port Squadron traffic management teams
- oversee the handling and movement of hazardous, classified, sensitive, and extraordinary materials
- coordinate passenger and cargo transportation including household goods, pets, firearms, and human remains
- develop and implement contracting procedures including statements of work and source selection plans
- mentor and motivate subordinate supervisors and staff
- analyze complex operational data to make informed decisions and improve traffic management processes
