Job Requirements
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-09 grade level or pay band
- Experience with traffic management policies, principles, and practices
- Familiarity with DOD and DOT requirements for shipping hazardous materials
- Ability to select transportation modes including rail, motor, air
- Experience planning work and setting priorities
- Ability to assign tasks based on assignment difficulty and employee capabilities
- Submission of transcript if qualifying through education
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 grade level or higher
- Experience with traffic management policies, principles, and practices
- Knowledge of DOD and DOT hazardous materials shipping requirements
- Ability to select efficient transportation modes for hazardous materials
- Experience in workforce planning and task assignment
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three years of progressive graduate education or LL.M. if related
- Combination of experience and education equating to one year of experience
- Volunteer work experience is considered relevant
Job Duties
- Apply traffic management policies, principles, and practices to ensure efficient transport operations
- Use DOD and DOT regulations to manage shipment of hazardous materials
- Determine the most efficient transportation mode for hazardous materials and ammunition
- Plan work schedules and set priorities to optimize team productivity
- Assign tasks to subordinates based on assignment difficulty and employee skills
- Oversee compliance with safety and regulatory standards in transportation
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation logistics
