Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of customer support or equivalent experience
  • Available to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • English-language speaking and writing skills to compose clear and concise sentences
  • Background clearance required for access to facility
  • Ability to pass preemployment criminal history check and drug screen

Job Duties

  • Monitor video images for the detection and verification of crashes, debris, abandoned or disabled vehicles, and spills
  • Dispatch and communicate with HERO personnel via radio or telephone using standard protocols
  • Log potential and confirmed incidents, construction and maintenance closures using ITS software
  • Provide information or assistance to motorists, TxDOT personnel, or other agencies on traffic and road conditions
  • Perform clear and concise record keeping, logging required information, equipment checks, data gathering, and updating manuals and contact lists
  • Complete initial and on-the-job training programs under supervision of training supervisor and program manager
