Job Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering specializing in Transportation Engineering or related field with relevant coursework and two years of related experience or equivalent
  • proficiency in traffic analysis software including Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation
  • valid US driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle records review
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • strong analytical and design capabilities
  • excellent communication and report writing skills
  • ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • ability to comply with local, state, and federal regulations

Job Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering specializing in Transportation Engineering or related field including coursework in traffic engineering, planning, safety and operational studies, signal timing, access management, ITS, work zone safety and mobility, and roadway design or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience
  • demonstrated proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation
  • valid US driver’s license
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • PE license or working towards obtaining preferred

Job Duties

  • perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation
  • perform traffic and capacity analysis on roadway networks
  • perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning and engineering software such as HCS, Synchro, simulation
  • prepare written reports and presentations of project findings to support project progress and operational enhancements
  • build analytic and design skills
  • conduct planning analysis and engineering conceptual design under supervision
  • create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision
  • collect and analyze data under supervision
  • use computer software to solve basic engineering problems
  • conduct traffic impact studies, operational analyses, and safety evaluations
  • develop and review traffic signal designs, signing and pavement marking plans
  • utilize traffic modeling software like Synchro, VISSIM, HCS for analysis and simulation
  • collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation planning and design projects
  • ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards and guidelines
