Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three to five years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license without suspension or revocation
  • Must have open availability
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours and lift 80 pounds repetitively
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and safety guidelines
  • Competent in working around high volume, fast-moving traffic

Job Qualifications

  • FDOT Advance Temporary Traffic Control
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license without suspension or revocation
  • Must have open availability
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours and lift 80 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines
  • Competency in working around high volume, fast-moving traffic

Job Duties

  • Set up and maintain channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to federal, state, and/or local temporary traffic control guidelines and plans
  • Coordinate and communicate work activity for onsite MOT personnel including protectors (flaggers), TMA drivers, and pilot car operators by providing breaks and overall management of work zone operations
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers while maintaining a professional approach to meet customer expectations
  • Drive company vehicles to transport equipment, trailers, and team members safely, efficiently, and timely, including pulling lightweight trailered equipment
  • Follow all company safety procedures and notify supervisors of any potential safety issues or incidents
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors and obtain all MOT-required training within established time frames
  • Complete all required project documentation including pre-job safety briefings, daily ticket control logs, traffic control inspections, and vehicle inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned
