Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an export or traffic administration role
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance
- Strong understanding of export and import regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- U.S. citizenship required
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with experience in an export role
- Master's degree with experience in an export role
- High school diploma or equivalent with six years' experience in an export role in lieu of a degree
- Strong leadership skills with ability to interact and collaborate with multiple functions and government personnel
- Thorough knowledge of export regulations, ECCN database, ITAR regulations and Schedule B database
- Experience with Automated Export System filing
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Experience operating in international contexts outside of North America
- Aerospace and defense experience
- Minimum five years' experience in data analytics
- Current DoD Secret clearance
Job Duties
- Plans, schedules and routes imports and export shipments, including monitoring flow of traffic to and from foreign destinations
- Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing shipment, receipt and documentation of imported and exported products
- Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues
- Interfaces with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations
- Ensures proper classification of materials to Harmonized Tariff Schedule, proper validation and compliance with global bilateral agreements
- Maintains license files and database of current and expired licenses
- Coordinates export bookings with airline and ocean carriers
- Prepares shipping documents for international shipments
- Develops and implements export compliance program ensuring compliance with EAR, ITAR, EPA and other government regulations
- Reports potential export violations
- Manages Traffic and Shipping on all international shipments
- Works with program personnel to review proposals, contracts and purchase orders
- Negotiates terms and contracts with vendors and internal clients
- Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes and develops programs to audit carrier rates and evaluate performance
- Enters internal data for inventory and financial tracking
- Ensures export documentation meets foreign and border specifications
- Stays abreast of regulatory updates and changes to ITAR and EAR
