Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years wine or hospitality related experience in a customer facing role
  • valid driver’s license with appropriate automobile insurance and clean driving record
  • TIPS certified or certification within 90 days of employment
  • CA food handler’s certification required
  • working knowledge of wine industry and culture
  • exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • ability to work extended hours and shift rotations
  • ability to lift and carry cases of wine
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to temperature variations and weather conditions
  • proactive planning and problem-solving skills
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • friendly and professional demeanor and appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years wine or hospitality related customer-facing experience in winery, restaurant, or hotel
  • working knowledge of wine industry and culture
  • ability to communicate wine knowledge at all experience levels
  • wine industry experience and wine education certification preferred
  • strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • ability to plan proactively, think critically, and solve problems
  • professional demeanor and appearance
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • knowledge of high-level food and beverage operations
  • valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Job Duties

  • Calendars, facilitates, and executes wine tastings, tours, experiences, and wine education activities for executives, owners, sales, trade, media, marketing, leadership, and internal or external needs
  • processes, coordinates, and calendars hospitality request forms, maintains trade calendars, responds to personalized guest requests, and assists in events and experiences
  • manages overnight accommodation and reservations for suites or cottages, partnering with cross-functional departments
  • proactively communicates with sales teams to understand priorities for trade visits including key brands and guest needs
  • works directly with brand, sales, and winemaking teams to understand strategies and create programs showcasing wines and educating trade guests
  • executes sales and internal guest visit requests according to hospitality request forms
  • maintains inventory and replenishment of hospitality essentials in guest accommodations
  • processes all charges related to visits and ensures timely receipts and reporting
  • supports, coordinates, and hosts special visits, onsite and offsite pourings, events, experiences, and internal meetings
  • develops trade programs including operational improvements and customizations
  • acts as primary point of contact for trade guests
  • builds rapport and establishes relationships between trade guests and winery team
  • creates and maintains proposals, contracts, and event orders for events including timeline, schematics, vendor contracts, details, and guest requests
  • plans, organizes, facilitates, and executes private and company-sponsored hospitality events
  • secures necessary workforce, equipment, and other event-related requirements
  • acts as event captain during events supervising event staff and operations
  • facilitates phone inquiries, emails, and correspondence related to trade, corporate, and private special events
  • other duties as assigned
