Job Requirements

  • Must possess strong knowledge of import trade compliance
  • Must have extensive experience with import/export documentation and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of US Customs brokerage processes and CBP regulations
  • Ability to use ACE and ABI systems for customs research and reporting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years proven experience in trade compliance and logistics coordination
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with diverse teams
  • Ability to work onsite in Franklin, TN
  • Capacity to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work full-time with some weekend coverage and on-call availability

Job Qualifications

  • US Customs Broker License, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of ACE and ABI systems
  • High school graduate
  • 2-year degree preferred but not required or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years experience in import/export regulatory requirements, documentation, and drayage coordination
  • Strong knowledge of port and rail operations, container tracking, and drayage logistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation/order management systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties
  • Strong and clear communication skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate the movement of goods between different countries to ensure import trade compliance
  • Ensure all necessary documents and permits are in place while closely coordinating transportation, logistics, and customs clearance procedures
  • Collaborate with International Shipping Manager, Logistics, Trade Compliance, Import/Export Broker, warehouse, and billing departments to ensure seamless international moves
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external teams involved in international transactions
  • Work closely with US Customs Broker for early filing of entries to resolve anomalies and ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Monitor import brokerage documentation, US Broker filings, and delivery orders for final mile/drayage
  • Ensure each shipment complies with proper HTS, product descriptions, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Senior Logistics Analyst to monitor and evaluate duty payments and drayage freight bills
  • Audit, reconcile, and provide weekly reports of all import activities to VP of Global Logistics and Trade Compliance
  • Maintain import/export strategy with detailed monthly reports showing gap analysis to VP of Global Logistics and Trade Compliance
  • Coordinate and schedule drayage shipments from ports and rail ramps to warehouses or customer locations
  • Monitor container availability, chassis capacity, and free time to avoid demurrage and detention charges
  • Work with Distribution Centers to monitor on-time deliveries and equipment returns within free time limits
  • Communicate with port terminals, steamship lines, and trucking partners to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
  • Track shipments and work with third-party foreign booking agent including on-time ISF filings with US Customs
  • Maintain accurate documentation packets including delivery orders, bills of lading, and customs paperwork
  • Resolve service issues, delays, and equipment shortages with urgency
