Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, logistics, or related field
- 5-8+ years of global trade compliance experience in U.S. and international markets
- licensed customs broker (LCB) preferred or actively pursuing
- strong knowledge of customs classification, valuation, origin rules, duties, tariffs, and free trade agreements
- experience managing customs brokers and freight forwarders
- ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex trade compliance projects
- excellent communication and analytical skills
- ability to work in a hybrid work environment
- willingness to undergo annual security training
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, logistics, or related field
- licensed customs broker (LCB) strongly preferred or actively pursuing certification
- 5-8+ years of global trade compliance experience including U.S. and international markets
- strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, origin rules, duties and tariffs, PGA requirements, bonded movements, and free trade agreements
- experience managing customs brokers, freight forwarders, and global logistics partners
- experience in related industries such as electronics, telecom, technology, or service and repair operations is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Lead Brightstar's global import and export compliance program across multiple regions including U.S., Canada, Mexico, LATAM, Europe, and APAC
- ensure all cross-border movements comply with applicable customs regulations
- maintain and enforce comprehensive trade compliance policy, SOPs, and internal controls
- serve as the company's internal subject matter expert on customs requirements and free trade agreements
- own and maintain HTS classifications for all parts and equipment globally
- perform tariff reviews, duty impact analyses, and classification validations
- oversee documentation quality for imports and exports
- ensure compliance with import valuation, country of origin rules, and product admissibility
- manage global customs brokers and trade partners including SLAs and performance monitoring
- audit broker filings for accuracy and compliance
- provide guidance on special classifications, complex transactions, repairs and returns
- identify and mitigate trade compliance risks across the supply chain
- collaborate with transportation team for smooth border crossings
- support reverse logistics, RMA processes, and shipments for repairs and replacements
- work with warehouse teams to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation
- standardize trade compliance workflows and documentation requirements across global locations
