Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age
  • must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • must have working knowledge of food production techniques and sanitation procedures
  • must possess excellent communication skills
  • must be able to lift 25-50 lbs
  • must obtain valid food handler's card within 30 days of hire
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • union membership required as condition of employment
  • must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • must have a strong sense of initiative and enthusiasm
  • must be detail oriented and able to follow safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least 1-year previous food service experience desired
  • working knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • ability to respond quickly and resourcefully to issues
  • strong customer service orientation
  • positive attitude and neat appearance
  • excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Serv Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days

Job Duties

  • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  • prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
  • properly label and date food items for storage
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
  • comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • use food preparation tools following manufacturers instructions
  • close the kitchen correctly following the closing checklist
  • maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
  • assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
  • prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • keep workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and stocked
  • understand and maintain proper sanitation and food safety
  • abide by all company policies and code of conduct
  • perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Chef
