Job Requirements
- Must be a minimum 18 years of age
- must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- must have working knowledge of food production techniques and sanitation procedures
- must possess excellent communication skills
- must be able to lift 25-50 lbs
- must obtain valid food handler's card within 30 days of hire
- must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- union membership required as condition of employment
- must present a professional appearance and demeanor
- must have a strong sense of initiative and enthusiasm
- must be detail oriented and able to follow safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- at least 1-year previous food service experience desired
- working knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- ability to respond quickly and resourcefully to issues
- strong customer service orientation
- positive attitude and neat appearance
- excellent organizational and planning skills
- Serv Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
Job Duties
- Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
- prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
- properly label and date food items for storage
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
- comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- use food preparation tools following manufacturers instructions
- close the kitchen correctly following the closing checklist
- maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
- assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
- prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- use safe and hygienic food handling practices
- keep workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and stocked
- understand and maintain proper sanitation and food safety
- abide by all company policies and code of conduct
- perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Chef
