Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in professional culinary setting preferably hotel or banquet environment
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Follow company standards regarding uniform, grooming, and behavior
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
  • Comply with attendance and time clock standards
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations including DOH requirements
  • Ability to answer minimum 70% on monthly menu knowledge quiz
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation following standards
  • Report equipment issues promptly
  • Maintain friendly and professional demeanor
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
  • Multitask and prioritize duties to meet timelines
  • Demonstrate initiative and team-first attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in professional culinary setting preferably hotel or banquet
  • Serv Safe certification or valid New York Food Handler's License beneficial but not required
  • Ability to stand for full duration of shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and professionalism

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items across various kitchen outlets and banquet events
  • Work across different stations including hot line, cold, grill, fry, and sauté
  • Uphold food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and kitchen organization
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation following NYC Health Department and hotel policies
  • Participate in banquet preparation and prioritize tasks based on event timelines
  • Support cross-training and teamwork across kitchen stations
