Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
- Follow company standards regarding uniform, grooming, and behavior
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Comply with proper time clock and attendance standards
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations including DOH requirements
- Must correctly answer at least 70 percent of monthly menu knowledge quiz
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
- Practice guest first mentality at all times
Job Qualifications
- Experience in culinary or food preparation roles preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Competence in handling multiple cooking techniques and stations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new recipes and cooking methods
- Basic understanding of inventory and stock management
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items across various kitchen outlets and banquet events in accordance with standardized recipes and culinary leadership direction
- Adapt to work various stations including hot, cold, grill, fry, saute
- Uphold highest standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety
- Assist in inventory management, ordering, and maintaining organized kitchen environment
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation according to NYC Health Department standards and hotel policies
- Collaborate with team members for efficient kitchen operations and cross-training
- Participate in preparation for banquets and prioritize tasks based on event timelines
