Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
  • Follow company standards regarding uniform, grooming, and behavior
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Comply with proper time clock and attendance standards
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations including DOH requirements
  • Must correctly answer at least 70 percent of monthly menu knowledge quiz
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Practice guest first mentality at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in culinary or food preparation roles preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Competence in handling multiple cooking techniques and stations
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new recipes and cooking methods
  • Basic understanding of inventory and stock management

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items across various kitchen outlets and banquet events in accordance with standardized recipes and culinary leadership direction
  • Adapt to work various stations including hot, cold, grill, fry, saute
  • Uphold highest standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering, and maintaining organized kitchen environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation according to NYC Health Department standards and hotel policies
  • Collaborate with team members for efficient kitchen operations and cross-training
  • Participate in preparation for banquets and prioritize tasks based on event timelines
