Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of line cook experience in high-end hotel or fine dining
- ServSafe or NYC Food Protection Certification
- ability to organize and store food deliveries in compliance with health department guidelines
- strong multitasking, time management, and communication skills
- physical stamina to lift, carry, and stand for long periods
- flexibility to work variable days and shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to follow recipes and adapt to changing kitchen needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or culinary training/certification, 2+ years experience as a line cook in a 4-5 star hotel or fine dining environment, ServSafe or NYC Food Protection Certification required, strong multitasking, time management, and communication skills, ability to follow recipes and adapt to changing kitchen needs, ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods in hot, fast-paced environments
Job Duties
- Rotate between all kitchen stations including hot line, cold line, banquets, breakfast, prepare and cook menu items following recipes and plating guidelines, assist with prep for current and next meal services, maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, follow opening and closing procedures including proper storage and labeling, communicate effectively with chefs and front-of-house staff, support banquet plating, off-site functions, and kitchen inventory as needed, comply with all sanitation, health, and safety standards, minimize waste and assist in controlling food costs
