Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in tourism, public relations, business administration, hotel/restaurant management, marketing, journalism, or related program
- One year of experience in a tourist development setting or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid Florida Driver License
- Motor Vehicle Record compliant with Alachua County policy #6-7
- Successful completion of applicable background checks
- Ability to work during emergencies as required
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to plan, organize work and manage time effectively
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in tourism, public relations, business administration, hotel/restaurant management, marketing, journalism, or related program
- One year of experience in a tourist development setting such as a visitors and convention bureau or destination management organization
- Proven success with Google Ads campaigns
- Expertise in paid social media advertising
- Professional management of brand social accounts
- WordPress proficiency
- Strong Constant Contact skills
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights
- Effective copywriting skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tourism regulations
Job Duties
- Manage VisitGainesville.com website and oversee content updates
- Elevate and improve SEO rankings through strategic content and technical adjustments
- Implement social media strategies and manage paid social media advertising campaigns
- Write and produce engaging marketing content and copy for various platforms
- Track and analyze website and social media analytics to generate performance reports
- Coordinate tourist development program activities in alignment with county objectives
- Conduct direct mail and telemarketing campaigns targeting tour operators and travel agents
