Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism, public relations, business administration, hotel/restaurant management, marketing, journalism, or related program
  • One year of graphic design experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Valid Florida Driver License
  • Motor Vehicle Record meeting Alachua County policy requirements
  • Successful completion of all applicable background checks
  • Ability to drive a county or personal vehicle to perform job duties
  • Ability to meet physical demands of job including sitting, talking, hearing, occasional reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism, public relations, business administration, hotel/restaurant management, marketing, journalism, or related field
  • One year of professional graphic design experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Experience with WordPress and content management systems
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and web analytics
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Job Duties

  • Manage social media planning and create content that increases followers and engagement
  • Design marketing materials including logos, brochures, and advertisements for print and digital media
  • Write and edit marketing, advertising, and public relations content
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for video and photographic services
  • Maintain an organized library of video and photo assets and manage content rights
  • Track and report on marketing campaign effectiveness and key performance indicators
  • Assist in developing and implementing the Alachua County tourist development marketing plan
