Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of tourism or hospitality work experience desired
  • ability to maintain valid Nevada Driver's License
  • ability to secure a U.S. Passport
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
  • excellent organizational and communication skills
  • able to work independently and multi-task
  • availability for 10-20% regional and local travel
  • ability to occasionally use personal vehicle
  • willingness to comply with physical demands of the role
  • ability to work scheduled hours reliably
  • strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, hotel administration, or related field desired
  • minimum of 1-2 years of experience in tourism or hospitality desired
  • experience with Destination Marketing/Management Organization, Convention and Visitors Authority/Bureau or Tourist Board highly desired
  • familiarity with tourism, convention, and hospitality concepts, practices, and procedures desired
  • strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and cooperation
  • outgoing personality with ability to make instant connections
  • ability to prepare and deliver presentations to clients, hotel partners, and board members
  • must have valid Nevada Driver's License
  • ability to secure a U.S. Passport and rent vehicles as necessary
  • computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, TEAMS, and Adobe
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • effective English communication skills both verbal and written
  • Spanish language proficiency highly desired
  • ability to review and understand documentation and reports
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently
  • ability to multi-task effectively.

Job Duties

  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and management of partnership marketing programs
  • work with existing travel partners within key distribution channels
  • assist in implementation of industry tradeshows, sales missions and promotions, client development events, client identification/cultivation, destination training process and client communication activity including registrations, appointment tracking, material shipping
  • maintain and manage digital training programs/database clean-up with third-party partners in U.S., Canada and Mexico
  • assist in creation of tour operator and agency direct programming to enhance CRM (Simpleview)
  • develop and assist managers with digital database reports, training programs, and initiatives
  • create real-time processes to identify and communicate with top-producing agencies/tour operators for sales outreach
  • refine room night report templates for TravelClick, TA Connect, Reno Tahoe Academy, TravPRO Mobile
  • data mine to identify top-selling travel agencies
  • develop Excel standards and reports with pivot tables to cross-reference Washoe County producers across various data sources
  • manage internal tourism mailbox and be first point of contact for Visitor Guide Requests
  • assist development of tour operator and agency client development and sales/educational platforms
  • assist in identification of corporate travel agencies by PCC and rate structures
  • assist planning, contracting, communications, implementation and follow-up of familiarization tours
  • contact area DMOs quarterly for Resource Hub updates
  • interface with RSCVA departments and stakeholders to coordinate activities
  • assist with administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, scheduling, invoice reconciliation, and event registrations
  • assist in preparing monthly sales reports and assist VP of Sales
  • maintain comprehensive knowledge of regional attractions and hotel properties to use as sales tools
  • engage in regional and local travel 10-20%
  • strengthen customer relationships through excellent service
  • convey information clearly and timely
  • ensure promotional materials follow brand guidelines
  • develop and monitor event timelines
  • assist Sales Team with client requests and inquiries
  • facilitate webinars and presentations
  • assist in building online tradeshow booths/portals
  • demonstrate positive interpersonal relations and cooperation
  • assume accountability for results and meet deadlines
  • participate in planning activities and professional organizations
  • maintain neat work area and perform other duties as assigned.
