Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • five years of administrative experience
  • ability to operate office equipment
  • valid State driver license
  • skills in communication and multitasking
  • ability to work with limited supervision
  • proficiency in typing
  • knowledge of federal, State and local laws
  • ability to handle confidential information
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience
  • experience in event management and customer service preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • proficiency in operating modern office equipment and computer systems
  • knowledge of basic principles of marketing, communications, bookkeeping, and financial analysis
  • skills in multitasking and working under pressure
  • effective interpersonal and public service skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare, type, word-process and proofread documents including correspondence and reports
  • enter data and maintain department records
  • manage accounts receivables and payables and reconcile bank statements
  • manage financial activity and prepare financial statements for citywide festivals
  • assist in designing marketing and informational materials for festivals
  • coordinate and supervise volunteers
  • manage vendors and festival logistics
  • prepare agendas and record minutes for festival committee meetings
  • answer telephone and provide assistance to the public and visitors
  • coordinate group tours, conventions and sports tournaments
  • file documents and maintain filing systems and financial records
  • operate office equipment and complete departmental reports
  • receive, sort and distribute mail
  • order and distribute office supplies
  • maintain petty cash fund
  • respond to public inquiries and resolve complaints
  • perform other assigned duties
