Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
- One year of human resource or related experience
- Experience in benefits or compensation disciplines preferred
- Operational knowledge of Ulti-Pro or related HRMS system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Basic knowledge of Department of Labor, FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA laws
- Ability to work independently and use discretion
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
- One year of human resource or related experience
- Experience in benefits or compensation disciplines preferred
- Operational knowledge of Ulti-Pro or related HRMS system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including formulas, pivot tables and charts
- Basic knowledge of benefit laws including DOL, FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with discretion
- Ability to handle confidential information with care
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically at all levels
Job Duties
- Coordinate daily benefits processing including enrollment, COBRA, termination, life and beneficiary changes, death claims, 401k requests and compliance testing
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance of employee benefits files and payroll records in the Human Resource Management System
- Assist in development of benefit information and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers and management
- Assist with administration of leaves of absence in coordination with HR managers, employees and Payroll
- Verify calculation and reconciliation of monthly premium billing statements and maintain statistical data related to premiums, claims and costs
- Coordinate and support department with plan audits
- Assist in development of communication tools for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions
- Set up new benefits codes, groups, open enrollment and life-event sessions using UKG
- Administrate compensation and performance processes including merit increases, market adjustments, goal setting, and quarterly conversations
- Assist with educating leaders and employees about compensation philosophy, base pay, bonus and incentive plans
- Assist with design and delivery of compensation and training communication plans for managers and staff
- Responsible for job analysis, market pricing, job description creation and updates
- Assist with creation and management of incentive plans
- Develop and implement creative solutions to compensation challenges
- Ensure stakeholders are informed during large projects or departmental/job family reviews
- Monitor effectiveness of programs for compliance, fairness, cost efficiency and trends
- Complete benchmark surveys for benefits and salary data
- Work with manager, coworkers and vendors preparing and processing legally required reports and applications
- Stay updated on federal, state and local benefit and compensation laws
- Ensure compliance and regulatory deadlines are met
- Perform other duties as assigned
