Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a similar work environment preferred
- free of communicable diseases
- ability to follow infection control and safety procedures
- physical ability to lift and carry 35 to 50 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- able to operate laundry and housekeeping equipment
- willingness to work Monday through Friday with every other weekend
- ability to communicate in English
- must be able to safeguard residents’ health information
- must attend staff meetings and trainings as required

- Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry preferred
- ability to follow oral and written instructions

Job Duties
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy
- empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas
- assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment
- identify and report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
- identify safety hazards and emergency situations
- report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor
- keep storage areas and wheeled carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
- carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts
- replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other housekeeping supplies
- make any necessary linen changes
- prevent the spread of infection through proper handling, storage, washing, and transporting of all garments and linens
- operate, load, and remove articles into washers and dryers
- operate an automated laundry solution dispensing system
- sort and remove articles from washers and dryers
- hang, fold, and stack garments and linens
- distribute clothes to resident’s rooms without error
- return clean linen to linen closets and mobile racks to ensure adequate supply
- report any garments or linens in ill repair to social services
- work cooperatively with residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and staff
- comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
- operate computers programmed with software needed to record, store, and analyze resident information
- perform other related duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor
