Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently and follow through with deadlines
  • able to work Monday - Friday with weekends and holidays as needed
  • reliable attendance
  • availability to work from July through mid November with possible slight schedule adjustments
  • valid CA Driver's License
  • currently enrolled in a four-year college or university

Job Duties

  • Inspecting and sampling various tomato fields at peak maturity
  • inspecting maturity counts on different tomato varieties to determine harvest dates
  • inspecting peel samples of red tomatoes to assess harvest quality
  • documenting sampled products to verify maturity
  • submitting samples to QC lab and performing data analysis
  • driving company vehicle to assigned locations
  • performing overnight, off-site travel as required
  • supporting daily olive field operations and data collection
  • joining orchard visits to inspect crops and conditions
  • entering and organizing field and lab data
  • maintaining and preparing departmental reports
  • collaborating with field staff and managers
  • collecting fruit samples per standard procedures
  • coordinating sample submissions and retrieving lab analysis
  • evaluating orchards for canopy, fruit set, irrigation, pests, and diseases
  • documenting findings with structured notes and reports
  • assisting with field mapping and orchard boundary updates
  • inputting scouting, sampling, inventory, and trial data into systems
  • helping establish and monitor field trials
  • recording trial data including yield and canopy metrics
  • contributing to piloting and updating SOPs and processes
